Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D., and seven other senators cheered the FCC for approving its reclassification notice of inquiry in response to the Comcast decision. They sent a letter supporting Chairman Julius Genachowski’s “third way,” which would put broadband transport under Title II of the Communications Act. It was also signed by Sens. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., Tom Udall, D-N.M., Ron Wyden, D-Ore., Russ Feingold, D-Wis., Al Franken, D-Minn., and Tom Harkin, D-Iowa. “Inaction at the FCC is simply not an option,” the senators wrote. “We urge you to conduct an open and transparent discussion of the issues at hand.”
