The departing chief of FCC’s broadband work said the commission doesn’t need a permanent nczar to keep its work on high-speed Internet service on track after follow-though on the nNational Broadband Plan is finished. "I actually don’t think that my job should be a permanent nposition," the official, Blair Levin, said on his last day on the job. He said that "every chairman nbasically ought to come in, take a look at it, see what needs to be done from a three-to-five nyear perspective. I don’t particularly think there needs to be an institutional-structural nchange."
