Major phone and cable associations asked House and Senate leaders to extend the bonusndepreciation policy that expired at year-end. The investment incentive, which allowsncompanies to expense 50 percent of capital equipment in the tax year it's bought and put innservice, should be extended at least for 2010, USTelecom, CTIA, NCTA, TIA and nine othernindustry associations said in a letter. The industry groups said they worry that allowing thenincentive to die would 搑esult in reduced future investment at the wrong time -- just as ourneconomy slowly recovers and while unemployment rates remain high.?
