Dish Network will consider alliances and partnerships with telecom operators and nacquisitions to get into the mobile business while the FCC reviews the companies proposed nacquisitions of TerreStar and DBSD Networks, CEO Joe Clayton said at the CES Unveiled nevent in New York. Besides the 40 MHz of S-band spectrum that those companies control, nDish bought 700 MHz licenses for $712 million in 2008 and expects to forge an alliance with nHughes Communications, which was acquired by Dish's set-top box supplier, EchoStar, nClayton said. Dish plans to use the 2 GHz band for a terrestrial-only service.
