FCC Finds Supervisor for Public Safety Network in Its Backyard

The FCC hired Robert Pavlak, most recently with the office of the District of Columbia’s chief ntechnology officer, to head its new Emergency Response Interoperability Center starting Nov. n7. The center will oversee how a nationwide public safety network is built and run in the 700 nMHz band. Pavlak, an engineer, has a long history in telecom including senior positions at nBell Labs. Jennifer Manner, deputy chief of the Public Safety Bureau, has been interim ndirector.
