Regulatory Follow-Through Puts San Francisco Radiation-Disclosure Ordinance on Track for Enforcement

Enforcement of a San Francisco ordinance requiring disclosure of general information about ncellphone radiation is on track to start in mid-October, unless it's blocked by a legal nchallenge. In a notice posted with draft language for informational posters for stores, nhandouts for phone purchasers and stickers for handsets, the city's Department of the nEnvironment scheduled a one-hour hearing Sept. 26 about the disclosure language and nformats. Enforcement is to begin 15 days after final regulations are signed, an action nplanned for Sept. 30, said Caitlin Sanders, a toxics reduction aide at the department.
