Bill for Advanced 911 Submitted Again on Hill

Next-generation 911 legislation was reintroduced in the House by the chairs of the nCongressional E-911 Caucus. The bill introduced by Reps. John Shimkus, R-Ill., and Anna nEshoo, D-Calif., is only slightly different from one last Congress. It would upgrade 911 call ncenters nationwide and stiffen penalties on states that divert 911 money to other npurposes. The bill was referred to the House Commerce Committee.
