The FCC approved a notice of inquiry asking questions about Deployable AerialnCommunications Architectures (DACA) -- balloon-mounted systems and other aerial basenstations that could be quickly dispatched to disaster areas to keep communications goingnwhen other systems falter. The commission had sought comment earlier, only to meet withnresistance from wireless carriers, which raised serious qualms about interference.
