CEO Dan Mead defended proposed purchases by Verizon Wireless of AWS licenses fromncable interests. “There is no disputing the fact that there is a looming spectrum crunch,” hensaid at the CTIA show in New Orleans. “The FCC estimates that the industry demand fornmobile data by 2015 will be 25-50 times greater than in 2010, and the FCC also predicts that ifnadditional spectrum is not available in the near term mobile data demand will likely exceedncapacity by 2014.
