High-Court Ruling on GPS Tracking Leaves Many Privacy Questions

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled unanimously that police must obtain a search warrant before nusing GPS to track criminal suspects. Privacy advocates were quick to hail the court’s ndecision in U.S. v Jones as a major victory, but they conceded that many difficult electronic nprivacy questions remain unsettled. Chairman Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., of the Senate Judiciary nCommittee called the decision "a victory for privacy rights and for civil liberties in the digital nage."
