Site miners dig out IP gems and harvest new tech transfer opportunities

If early results from one effort to embed these IP excavators is any indication, the answer is a resounding "yes." Thanks to a state-funded grant program designed to foster commercialization, five universities in Maryland - Johns Hopkins University, Morgan State University, the University of Maryland (UM)-College Park, UM-Baltimore, and UM-Baltimore County are getting a first-hand look at the varied and practical benefits of establishing a site mining program.
