The breathable waterproof textile Entrant E was developed by Toray Industries, Inc., Osaka/Japan, by using water-soluble polyur-ethane (PU) and applying new nano-finishing technology (forming a nano-scale 3D structure in the mixing of several functional materials to realize complex and compensative effects (Fig. 1). Entrant E is a breathable waterproof finished textile characterized by not using organic solvents in the finishing process (Fig. 2). It has the same breathable waterproofing property, durability to washing and anti-dew condensation property as the conventional products produced by the organic solvent process, and is suitable for clothes used in outdoor sports such as skiing, snowboarding etc. (Table).
