Aramid fibers from production scraps for tribological construction parts

With the fast growing production of aramid fibers, the amounts of textile scraps and wastes increase representing a potential source for reclaimed fibers. In this paper opportunities are demonstrated for the reutilization of textile AR scraps for tribological reinforcement of injection molded composites. It was investigated how different AR grades will effect the friction and wearing resistance in injection molded PA composites and to what extent reclaimed fibers could substitute virgin AR fibers.
