The tensile properties of 3 kinds of high-performance fibers (Kevlar/PBO/ Kermel fiber) are compared by using xenon arc light and carbon arc light to simulate sunlight ageing. Among the samples, the Kevlar 129 fiber has the highest mechanical retention property, and the retention of Kermel fiber is the worst in general. It can also be found the PBO has the worse sunlight resistant property although it has the highest original tenacity, but it drops rapidly under the light-radiation treatment. At the same time, it can be concluded from the tensile tests that the mechanical property loss under the carbon arc light is larger than that under the xenon arc light.
