The worldwide market for monofilaments is currently about 100,000 tons/year whereby the standard products will be removed more and more to the Far East. As a result, European and North American manufacturers of monofilaments are facing cost pressure from the Far East. The challenge to survive can only be met by developing new innovative products.rnAt the Techtextil North America in May 2010 in Atlanta, GA/USA, the Reifenhauser company Reimotec Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH, Ober-Abtsteinach/Germany, presented their delivery program for the production of monofilaments and PET strapping tapes. As a system supplier, the company produces not only the equipment, but also the entire engineering and extensive know-how in process technology.
