Technical textiles - a challenge for education!

In general, textiles are commonly divided into apparel, house and home textiles, and technical textiles, whereby technical textiles above all have to fulfill a function. Since the share of technical textiles is already over 40 % of textile production and continues to grow, it is certainly advisable to accommodate for this in the education of textile engineers - which most educational institutions are already doing. The following remarks are meant to serve as impetus for further discussion.
