The producer of the highly flame and heat-resistant fibers PyroTex Fibers GmbH, Hamburg/Germany, now offers solution dyed PyroTex fibers in 2.8 dtex. This means it is now possible to produce products with very high color fastness levels. The 5 business units of PyroTex Fibers (Protective Apparel - Filtration - Public Transportation - Technical Applications - Contract Textiles) will present the newest products and developments with PyroTex fiber, an engineered acrylic fiber with a limiting oxygen index (LOI) of 43 % and a continuous running temperature of 250 ℃, during the upcoming Techtextil. The fiber is acid, alkali, UV and hy- drolysis resistant, and is not thermoplastic, i.e. does not melt or drip.
