Particularly for towels there is a need to remain absorbent after finishing despite gaining a soft hand. The manufacturer of polymer binders and silicones Wacker Chemie AG, Munich/Germany, with the Wetsoft NE 750 now offers a hydrophilic fabric softener which not only improves the softness of textiles, but also retains the ability to absorb water. The silicone fluid formulation is sold as a water-free concentrate and is then diluted with water to produce a ready-to-use emulsion.
