Joining of carbon and glass fiber non-crimp fabrics using tufting for FRP products

Tufting technology is a single sided sewing process and has been established for the production of floorcoverings (e.g. carpets, bath mats or synthetic turf) for many years. Besides conventional textile production, tufting has also entered the field of fiber composite materials, where it is used for the joining of textile preforms. It also has great potential for solving logistics problems of textile preforms.
