A highly regarded Midwest and California based digital repository has recently come to the forefront of the eastern United States scholarly community. So much so that major research institutions such as the Library of Congress, Columbia University, Dartmouth College, Harvard, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the New York Public Library, Stanford, Princeton, Pennsylvania State University, and Yale have joined its ranks. It is the HathiTrust Digital Library that is comprised of 52 United States research libraries and recently (November 2010) went global with the addition of its first international partner, the University of Madrid.
