Report of the ALCTS CaMMS Heads of Cataloging Departments Interest Group Meeting, Washington, DC, American Library Association Annual Conference, June 24, 2019

The Heads of Cataloging Departments Interest Group Meeting in Washington, D.C. was primarily comprised of three presentations broadly focused on enabling and enhancing access to library collections. Each of the speakers presented on projects ultimately designed to increase discoverability of materials. The presenters' slides are available on the ALCTS CaMMS Heads of Cataloging Departments Interest Group website at: con-nect.ala.org. Nicole Smeltekop, Special Materials Catalog Librarian in the Michigan State University Libraries, led off with a presentation she co-wrote with her colleagues at MSU, Lucas Mak, Metadata and Catalog Librarian, Lisa Lorenzo, Metadata Librarian, and Elisa Landaverde, Metadata Librarian & Special Collections LGBTQ+ Collection Curator. Their work focused on the use of International Standard Name Identifiers (ISNIs) for named entities in the records for their digital repository collections.
