A conventional postconstruction soil treatment for subterranean termites involves the application of a termiticide to the soil under and around an existing structure after the final grade has been installed. The goal is to create a chemical barrier between the termites in the ground and the structure. Traditional soil termiticide labels call for creating this barrier on both the exterior and the interior of the foundation. This is the most common way to treat an existing home for subterranean termites.
