If yellowjacket calls are coming in, it must be almost fall! The reasons that yellowjackets become such a problem in late summer and fall is because: (1) their nests are as large as they have ever been or ever will be, with a few exceptions, and (2) because nests are declining, yellow-jacket behavior takes a less predictable, more aggressive turn resulting in more wasp/human interactions.
