Another first for UK body builder Gray & Adams Deli XL brings environmentally friendly LHVs on the road

Deli XL Foodservice wholesaler now operates environmentally friendly Long Heavy Vehicles (LHVs), also called 'ecotrucks'. The company, in partnership with Gray & Adams, Ducarbo (Gray & Adams service partner in Netherlands). DAF Trucks (EBAG| and TRS refrigeration, has developed a twenty five metre long truck that meets the stringent environmental standards as Euro 5EW. The use of long heavy vehicles at Deli XL reduces transportation costs and contributes to the reduction of C02 emissions by the company. "An LHV combination can carry 50% more volume compared to a normal truck combination. The fuel consumption is, by alt measures, just a fraction higher," says Jan Willem Gosseling, Fleet Manager at Deli XL.
