Two fully electric 18-ton trucks for food distribution in Berlin will start operation for fresh food logistics company Meyer Logistik in October 2014. The refrigeration equipment for the two zero-emission trucks is supplied by FRIGOBLOCK. With innovative concepts for environmentally friendly food distribution trucks Meyer Logistik from Friedrichsdorf already built a reputation for itself in the past. Now that company is taking the next step and had two lveco Stralis 18-ton trucks equipped for fully electric operation by the Swiss E-Force One AG. The trucks transport foods to supermarkets of two big food chains in Berlin. Meyer Logistik relies on refrigeration technology from FRIGOBLOCK for the correct refrigeration of food. "For us, it was logical to decide on the supplier who is the only one to use exclusively electric drives in this segment", Matthias Strehl, managing director and project manager of the E-Force project for Meyer Logistik, states.
