The African Report on Child Wellbeing 2008: How child-friendly are African Governments? By the African Child Policy Forum

The African Report on Child Wellbeing 2008 compares and ranks the performance of 52 African governments by using a novel Child-friendliness Index developed by ACPF. This is the first in a series of reports that The African Child Policy Forum (ACPF) intends to publish biennially. The goals of the report are made clear from the start – to put Africa’s children on the public and political agenda and to hold African governments to account in relation to the obligations that come with signing the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child, and other international legal norms.
