Basic testing, adjusting and balancing (TAB) can be defined as the art of establishing air and water flows. More specifically, TAB is the process of checking and adjusting all environmental systems in a building to produce the design objectives. This includes: A) Balancing air and water distribution systems B) Adjusting the total system to provide design quantities C) Electrical measurements D) Establishing quantitative performance of all equipment E) Verifying automatic control system operation and sequences of operation F) In some cases, sound and vibration measurements.
