Mainframe data for Web applications normally travels over TCP/IP networks. Meanwhile, CICS is the backbone that supports much of the world's enterprise server applications, linking end users, applications, databases and data stored in VSAM, as well as acting as the primary gateway for Web access to applications. Mission-critical applications running under these environments require state-of-the-art viewing and management capabilities, and one vendor says it has what's needed. BMC Software, Inc. (Houston, Tex.) on March 1 introduced several new solutions in its Mainview product family to enable customers to meet the demands of 24x7 operations for their mission-critical applications.
