The Scottish government has established a fund with a vol-ume of ￡ 70 million (about €82.4 million) to support re-newable energies (see article on page 24). This was announced by the Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond at the annual conference of the wind and ocean energy industry "RenewableUK 2010" in Glasgow. The aim of the National Renewables Infrastructure Fund is primarily to finance the expansion of port and production facilities in order to strengthen the entire supply chain from the develop-ment to the production of offshore wind turbines in Scotland.
