General contractor for CdTe lines

The Roth & Rau Group is further expanding its strategic activities in the thin-film sector. The company has acquired CTF Solar, with its know-how in the field of cadmium telluride, and will offer CdTe turnkey production lines as a general contractor. In so doing, Roth & Rau will also use its comprehensive experience in turnkey lines for crystalline solar technology. The company will not only take charge of project management, but will also manufacture the coating systems for deposition of cadmium telluride. "While these are key components in the overall production process, they also represent the largest share (around 58 %) of the investment costs for the whole production line," says CEO Dietmar Roth.
