Detail of the section, general view Since 1974 the area of the project, a few km to the north of Barcelona, has been used as a landfill for the city's waste, up until the time when, in 2002, it was closed down in order to be reclaimed, upgraded and turned into a public park. The project has dealt with the complex technical problem of isolating the waste and consolidating the ground by means of a system of terraces, embankments, routes and irrigation canals that integrate cultivations, wooded areas, native plants and specific plantings to stabilize the soil, following in part the artificial topography created over the years by the settling of the dump.%Inquadramento regionale, planimetria generale, dettaglio dei blocchi di rifiuti.
