Response to Jacob Simon note

We are indebted to Jacob Simon for pointing out that, in addition to the six Spectrum Colors already noted in the article, six other colors in the paint box date to after Whistler's death. Two of them, from Wilfred C. Kimber, date to 1922-24. This information was initially puzzling since we reported that the Pennells' gift of Whistler materials was received in 1917. Further information from the Library of Congress indicates that the Pennells' gift came in a series of donations between 1917 and 1937 (Blood, 2011), thus these two tubes could have been in the box when the Library received it.
