摘要

The design of integral bridges brings some specific problems, especially the problem of soil-structure interaction. This paper describes an original method to deal with this issue. Soil-structure interaction is simulated by soil springs introduced into a static model of the integral bridge. The method provides general formulas to calculate the stiffness of the springs as modules of subgrade reaction. The described method is specifically tuned for applicability in civil engineering practice.
