Effective multifunctional additives for concrete based on the wastes of the oil industry

We consider the issues of obtaining multifunctional additives for concretes and mortars based on waste of the fat-and-oil industry. The results of research on the composition and properties of tar oil distillation of fatty acids of the fat-and-oil industry (gossypol resin) demonstrate the possibility of their use as raw materials to obtain chemical admixtures for concrete. The necessity of the modification of waste production of vegetable oil was identified with the aim of reducing the negative impact of nonwater-soluble fractions on structurization, which is expressed in the blocking of products of cement hydration and by reducing the potential strength of the concrete. The results of physical and chemical research on additives were obtained according to the influence of the volume of injected additives on the properties of concrete, which showed a polyfunctional effect. We have justified the technical, economic, and environmental effects of chemical additives on the basis of waste of the fat-and-oil industry.
