Wiener Hofburg: Stahlkonstruktion zur Rekonstruktion

Once the initial damage limitation work had been completed following the big fire at the Hofburg in 1993, the decision was taken to restore the tract with the historical "Redoutensaal" and to turn it into a modern conference hall. The steel engineering measures included supporting structures for two floors at roof level, the stage structures, parts of the new roof structure and also steel truss girders and Vierendeel steel trusses (with composite effects). One of the requirements was to faithfully restore the outside of the buil-ding to its original appearance.%Ende November 1992 wurde bei einem Großbrand in der Wiener Hofburg der gesamte Dachstuhl des Redoutensaaltraktes sowie die gesamte historische Decke über dem großen Redou-tensaal und teilweise die Decken über dem kleinen Redouten-saal und über dem Teesalon-Bereich zerstört. Der gesamte Bereich wurde binnen weniger Wochen nach den Aufräumungsarbeiten mit einer provisorischen Eindeckung versehen (siehe Stahlbaurundschau 80/1993).
