The highlight of the first week of September for ISS Expedition 11 pairing of Sergei Krikalev and John Phillips involved the departure of one cargo craft and the launch of another. In addition, a major operation was performed on the vibration isolated treadmill in the Zvezda module - the TVIS. New components were delivered aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery in late July for a routine upgrade of the system. After two days of maintenance work, Phillips activated the treadmill machine and tested it on 8 September. He reported that it was operating normally and was again available for daily use by the crew. As usual, every day saw some two hours of physical exercises for the pair using the variety of devices in the complex to maintain their health and muscle strength.
