Scottish engineers bring spaceships to the Clyde

Glasgow space firm Clyde Space and academics at the University of Strathclyde have joined forces to develop advanced micro-spacecraft that could be used for a range of applications, such as increasing mobile telecommunications capacity. Ultimately, the team hopes to use the knowledge and skills from the partnership to build and launch Scotland's first satellite. The news was announced on the first day of IAC 2008 by Prof Colin Mclnnes of the University of Strathclyde. He said: "This is an exciting project to be involved with and it's great to able to work with a company on our doorstep. The new spacecraft will have a wide range of uses, from scientific to commercial applications.
