Apollo 7 Medals Belatedly Awarded

A long-standing injustice to the crew of the first manned Apollo flight was belatedly rectified on the occasion of the fortieth anniversary of the mission last October, writes Ken MacTaggart. NASA administrator Michael Griffin awarded the agency's Distinguished Service Medal to the three-man crew of Apollo 7, commander Wally Schirra, Command Module pilot Donn Eisele, and Lunar Module pilot Walter Cunningham.
