Under Secretary of State at the Department for Business Innovation and Skills, Baroness Wilcox visited SSTL on 16 March as part of a mini-tour of businesses in Surrey, England, seeing for herself just how innovative and groundbreaking this company has been over the past several decades. During her visit she toured the newly opened Kepler building (Spaceflight April issue, page 124) and took interest in the stunning performance of SSTL's NigeriaSat-2 remote sensing satellite, marvelling at the images transmitted to Earth, and being greatly impressed by the new 3D image of the Dubai skyline. But there was more to her visit. Baroness Wilcox also met six engineers on the company's graduate employment programme helping point young people toward a career in space science.
