Curiosity's bits carry bugs to Mars

When it comes to keeping Mars vehicles free from Earth's germs nobody does it better but even JPL has to accept a waiver when non-compliance threatens to contaminate the planet or stop the flight. And so it is with Curiosity's drill bits that never did get the sterilization treatment in a process rigidly policed by NASA's Catherine Conley.
