By any standard it is a big piece of kit but nothing as tall as the new Mobile Launcher (ML) serving Launch Complex 39B at NASA's Kennedy Space Center has rolled to that pad since 1975. Modified to support the new Space Launch System, the structure was rolled to Pad B on November 16, first motion occurring at 9.15 am for a 14-hour journey. The 355 ft tall structure stands atop a modified platform which will eventually contain a 60 x 30 ft rectangular cut-out to accommodate various versions of the SLS.
