Flying the Lynx

While Virgin Galactic (VG) prepares to test fly its SpaceShipTwo airdropped spaceplane to sub-orbit, another Mojave based company, XCOR Aerospace, is moving ahead with its two-seat Lynx. This is a small but versatile winged vehicle capable of making a runway take-off, to fly to 100km into space. Both vehicles will be seeking to operate commercially with paying passengers by 2014. To find out more about XCOR's progress, I caught up with their Chief Operating Officer, Andrew Nelson.
