LOOKING TO THE EAST

THE 39TH ANNUAL EVENT of the longest-running series in the British Interplanetary Society's calendar was held at the Society headquarters in London on 1-2 June when this year's Sino-Russian Technical Forum explored a wide range of topics. They related to current Russian and Chinese space programmes and looked back at some historic Soviet space achievements of the 1960s and 70s. As with other forums in recent years, the agenda has been expanded to include presentations on the fast-growing Indian space programme. Some Japanese lunar space flight projects were also reviewed.
