Tetra Pak won "Best Green Consumer Product" for its groundbreaking retortable carton packaging system, Tetra Recart, at the Globe Awards on May 12, 2011. Tetra Pak was honored for successfully designing a package that is sustainable from end-to-end while fulfilling consumer demands. The carton can be used for a variety of foods including vegetables, soups, tomatoes, beans and even pet food. Across its entire lifecycle, Tetra Recart has minimal impact on the environment. It's made mainly from paper, is square, lightweight and durable making it easy and efficient to transport, and is shelf-stable, saving on electricity throughout transportation and storage.
