摘要

A method is proposed to study the effect of a gaseous product on the rate of gas-solid reactions. Application of a continuously stirred tank reactor (CSTR) is the most essential feature of the method. Under constant flow and temperature, the concentration of the gaseous product is self-controlled by the reaction rate. The method has been verified by the studies of the retarding effect of water vapour on the reduction of promoted magnetite - widely used as the industrial catalyst for ammonia synthesis.
