The 2010 International SiGe Technology and Device Meeting (ISTDM 2010) was held at KTH Royal Institute of Technology at the satellite campus in Kista, Stockholm, Sweden on May 24th-26th 2010. This is the 5th conference in the series started in January 2003 with the first meeting held in Nagoya, Japan. The 2010 conference was chaired by Prof. Mikael Ostling, KTH who was significantly helped by the co-chairs Dr. Henry Radamson and Dr. Gunnar Malm, both from KTH. Dr. Radamson also chaired the Technical Programme Committee. In total 58 contributed abstracts from 11 different countries were initially submitted for consideration by the technical committee. The final accepted paper count was divided between 17 invited talks, 33 oral presentations and 23 poster presentations. The topical themes covered a wide area ranging from Epitaxial Growth and Characterization, Device-related materials, Process Technology, to Optoelectronic and Novel Devices. A novel topic this year was the session on spin-based materials and devices.
