This 7th ISDRS Special Issue of Solid-State Electronics contains manuscripts presented at the 2013 International Semiconductor Device Research Symposium (ISDRS 2013) that was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, in Bethesda, Maryland, on December 11-13, 2013. A total of 37 manuscripts were submitted, which were sent out for review by both the ISDRS Guest Editor and the Editor of Solid-State Electronics. This ISDRS Special Issue of Solid-State Electronics contains the manuscripts selected through this rigorous review process. The 2013 ISDRS had approximately 250 attendees from USA, Europe, and Asia. There were a total of 36 oral presentation sessions with 165 invited and contributed paper presentations, and one poster session with 48 paper presentations. The topics included nanoelectronics, wide bandgap semiconductors, SiGe devices, energy and photovoltaics, sensors, RAMS novel memory devices, CMOS technology, optoelectronic devices, metamaterials and photonics, organic materials and devices, modeling and simulation, radiation and photonics, and reliability. Three excellent plenary talks were presented by Dr. Scott List (INTEL Corp) on "New Opportunities for Computing", Prof. John Rodgers (UIUC) on "Stretchy Electronics that Can Dissolve in Your Body", and Dr. David Shaver (Deputy Director MTO, DARPA) on "Microsystems Technology at DARPA". A special topics panel discussion was organized with excellent presentations by Dr. Lenny Tinker (DOE) on the "DOE SunShot Project", Dr. Anu Kaul (NSF) on "Beyond Graphene Layered Nanomaterials and Their Device Applications", and Dr. Dimitris Pavlidis (NSF), on "NSF Programs on Electronic Photonic and Magnetic Devices".
