摘要

In this work we calculate the magnetocaloric effect in the doped compounds (R_(1-c)~αR_c~η)Ni_2, where R~α and R~η stand for rare earth elements. The calculated isothermal entropy change and the adiabatic temperature change upon variations of the applied magnetic field, for the compounds (Er_(1-c)Dy_c)Ni_2 and (Tb_(1-c)Ho_c)Ni_2 are in good agreement with the available experimental data. We also propose a composite material based on the doped compound (Tb_(1-c)Ho_c)Ni_2 to work as magnetic refrigerant in the temperature range between 15 and 35 K.
