摘要

Electron paramagnetic resonance was used to study compositions of petroleum and coal pitches with a vanadyl phthalocyanine complex. It is typical that the amount of this complex capable of being solvated by the high-molecular substance of the pitch materials when the compositions are heated to above 400 deg. C is limited and is practically the same both for the two pitches and for the fractions soluble in chloroform. It is noted that anisotropic blocks about 6.0 nm in size identical in structure play the role of repeating structural units in both pitches. Each of the blocks has a complicated structure and includes several closely packed associates performing the function of supports and traps of an unpaired electron.
