Values of stored energy (Wigner energy) are given for reactor graphite of grade GR (produced in this country) irradiated in displacers and in the form of bushings of uranium-graphite reactors at 100-450℃ by a fluence of up to 1.3 x 10~(22) neutrons/cm~2 (E > 0.18 MeV). These values are compared with the data obtained in other countries. It is shown that the stored energy of graphite increases with increasing radiation dose and then becomes stabilized. The level achieved decreases exponentially with the irradiation temperature. It has been found that the stored energy is proportional to the crystal lattice parameter of graphite (c). An explanation is given for the observed effect, which is based on the consideration of the radiation deformation of crystallites.
